I'm new to woodworking and dowelling. As in any community, there are sure to be strong opinions on the subject of doweling - for my purposes it's ideal and an improvement over using pocket hole joinery which I used to rely on for joining wood. more intensive work and you have to pay attention to details. Once I figured out how and what to do, I found that my parts were much stronger and more reliable than anything I put together using pocket holes. Even though it's more work, I prefer this carpentry method (until I learn more methods like dovetails, mortise/tenon, etc.) so I know what I'm building will last. I like this set because it is good value for money. and comes with a variety of anchor sizes to suit your needs.
