This switch has only been in service for a few months. As summer came, I noticed my temperature was getting quite high, then the fan finally turned on. Then, for the next week or so, every time I stopped at a stop light or in a traffic jam, the coolant temp would get really high, almost overheating! Scared me to death. It took a bit of troubleshooting, but this piece of junk stopped working. This would barely provide enough continuity that my fan switch relay would go fast but would never trip until my car was ready to overheat! I used this on my 1999 Honda Civic EX D16Y8 engine. I ended up going to a parts store and bought a derailleur with a lifetime warranty. Save yourself the hassle and buy a decent Radiator Coolant Temperature Sensor with a warranty.
