You need to be careful because some laptops need PC3 RAM and others need PC3L. The L stands for low voltage. I have lots of PC3 chips but they all made my laptop freeze at boot. Apparently pc3l can work with PC3 but not the other way around. Anyway, this install took 6 mins, Windows recognized immediately now I'm rocking 12GB. A big difference from 4. (thought I had at least 8 but decided to look into it when my 2+applications were giving me trouble. Now? Zip, zip, zip. One program in particular is Microsoft Teams, which took 16-20 seconds to load and stabilize. after this upgrade, 7 seconds or less. It's quality RAM, I'm sure - they're mostly the same given the standards so look for the right price, and of course the right fit (204 pin in my case). For $21 with tax? A no BRAINER, it'll pay for itself in half a work day. It was between this and the mushkin but I think the mushkin was not in packaging. Never heard of this brand but it's popular and works. Speed was 12800 I believe, as is my 4gb chip. Can't go wrong. oh, and I ordered it at 5:35pm and it came at 1pm the next day. 20 hours?! Amazing.

Pros
  • Great upgrade of an older Dell with a good price for 16gb.
Cons
  • May require BIOS adjustments to fully benefit
