I bought three of these. All three shrieked, squeaked, groaned and shuddered as if the dead were rising. I'm not talking about ordinary apathetic zombies, I'm talking about EVIL zombies who are in great pain and determined to kick you out of your house. The noise appears to be coming from a small flow restrictor in the line that fills the pressure vessel with service water. When filtered water is poured, the new water introduces vibrations of different amplitudes into the body of the tank, which wake the sleeping dead and begin to harmonize with them, like the neighbors' dogs howling at each other. Carrying household water elsewhere in the house upsets the delicate pressure balance, and the same disturbing sequence of events occurs until the dispenser, the dead, and the neighborhood dogs are involved in an unholy cacophony. Anything else that upsets the delicate fluctuating balance between applied water pressure, pressure drop during dispensing, and tank filling rate will trigger the system and cause a reaction similar to waking your spouse up with a pitcher of ice water. Could it be that the problem is on my side? Yes, but I called support and they sent me a small package with new valves. After replacing the valves, the spirits appear to be temporarily peaceful, but wake up with renewed anger a few days later.
