I was looking for a scratching post so my cats wouldn't scratch the dining room chairs. Since cats like to stand up (like the cat in the product photo) to scratch them, I figured this inclined scratching post would help. Although they used this product for scratching (after I added a lot of catnip), this product does NOT work while standing or hunched over as shown in the picture. I tipped it over and the cats wanted to scratch it and it immediately tipped over and scarred the cats. So instead I just put it on the ground and it works the way my cats have sat and scratched on it. Don't buy this if you want something that stands upright as it's useless. Your cat will pull it in two seconds.
