Review on 🏒 Hockey Stick Blade Wrap Around Protector for Off Ice Training - Enhancing Hockey Accessories for Practice, Gift, Equipment, and Gear by Michael Finnegan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent - durable, heavy, difficult to handle.

Mixed thoughts on it. I glued the stick according to the instructions. The front of the blade shoots well - this affects the curvature of my p92 blade, flattening it slightly and making it difficult to lift. It's okay, just shot in the garage, not critical for high accuracy. But the backhand is a different story. It's very difficult to shoot backwards with it, at least with an n92 curve. It rarely rises properly; it doesn't have that nice swirling sauce on the back; it's more knuckles your way up. Maybe I'm just not used to it (or maybe I'm worse with backhands than I thought), but I was surprised at how hard it is to pick up a backhand in the right motion. The blade is also heavy. This shouldn't come as a surprise as it's thick plastic, but I was surprised at the weight. I only used it for about an hour or two, so durability is hard to judge. At this point, it seems to be holding up a variety of hits pretty well - snap, wrist, slap, backhand. It seems to do its job of properly protecting the blade in all those shots. I'm a big guy so I really try to add some mustard to my recordings so thumbs up on that one. But be prepared for this to unbalance your racquet, especially if you are using a high end/light racquet. I use a cheaper Street Club so the weight is noticeable but not as much as a $150 stick. Adding some weight to a 550g stick isn't as obvious as adding weight to a 415g stick. If you can handle the weight and adapt to your wood's new impact profile, you'll likely really enjoy this product. Otherwise I'd say it's ok, but nothing I would buy a second time.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Mostly normal, but...
