Maybe that's true, because I'm making fun of the advertising text that says this duvet cover is made of "quiet" cotton. I actually think it's nice to have duvets and linens that are starched and produce a healthy rustle, so even if it made sense, it wouldn't be a selling point for me. But this one is very loud! The first few nights it sounded like one of those blue plastic tarps. I was convinced it was lined with plastic or something and became obsessed with the idea of cutting it open on those sleepless nights! I think it must have loosened up a bit and now sounds closer to normal ceiling hiss, which I'm perfectly happy with. The duvet cover also cushions it. Otherwise it's quite nice. The case is on the thick side, so it might wrinkle, but it feels and looks like it's going to be durable (and I don't think it's actually plastic-lined anymore). I don't feel any protruding feathers and it doesn't shed no matter how much I crush or abuse it. I'm the winter weight and thought it would feel heavier - it seems like a very medium weight duvet - but it's actually quite warm to snuggle up to even though it hasn't been nearly 40 degrees and warmer lately. I bought it on sale but I think it's worth full price. It seems to be just as good if not better than the ones I've bought at every major store. I've never had one with loops, this makes it a lot easier to cover. But be aware of its volume, especially if you're drawn to the idea of "quiet" cotton!
