This scratching post is really good quality. You get what you pay for, it's good hardwood with a good finish and the parts they sit/lie on are super soft faux fur material instead of regular carpet which is really nice because it doesn't rip or make a big mess that much . It's solid and well built (assembly required but all hardware included, no additional tools required). Doesn't wobble at all. It's a bit bigger than I intended, I wanted to put it in front of a specific window, but it's higher than the windowsill, so I think I'll put it somewhere else, but it doesn't matter. Cats love being bigger in the world. ;) If you are looking for an unsightly scratching post, this is a very good option. Oh, and my cats are crazy about the catnip essential oil spray they put with it. I might invest in stocks of this material.
