I wasn't sure if I would buy this smart globe as there are very few smart globes like this product on the internet. I ordered another popular brand from Amazon and it arrived lifeless. I finally bought this Leapfrog Smart Globe and am very happy with its features and quality. I am enthusiastic about its functions and can only recommend it. Packaging and Contents: • I purchased the packaging product with no disappointment, the original price is about $79.99. But I ended up buying from stock which is a little cheaper at $5. • There was no original packaging in the box as I purchased the product with no disappointment. • It was packaged in a clear plastic bag and nicely packaged. • Batteries are NOT INCLUDED. I had to put batteries in for it to work. "Smart" - Globe: • The main difference of this smart globe from other available products is - DISPLAY screen. • To be honest, I underestimated the screen and its quality when ordering the product. But it's one of my favorite things my kids love and the display is brighter, easier to read and it can play videos too. • The pin is attached to the globe and cannot be removed. • The controls on the globe are simple and the volume buttons are easily accessible. • There are many modes and categories that you can choose and play with the globe. ○ Countries ○ Animals ○ Geology ○ Landmarks ○ Capitals ○ Languages ○ Flags ○ Currency ○ Size ○ Mix and Match ○ Continents • There are also single and multiplayer modes where the globe plays a video and asks a question. The appropriate answer (e.g. country/continent/ocean) must be selected with the stylus. Honestly, THIS IS VERY NICE! • The sound is good enough and you can't expect more. • Glossy and rotating globe. Video and Display: • There are pre-programmed videos that can be played on the screen. Most of them seem to hail from the BBC world and are definitely worth a look to gain some knowledge. • There are cool animations that play and arouse children's interest while playing the game mode, as well as manage scores among players. Final Thoughts: My kids love this globe and it's a great STEM toy for any child. It provides extensive knowledge about different categories and can learn a lot. There was a wonderful saying "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER" and this toy is an example of that. The original package is $279.99 on Amazon which is weird so I decided to buy without disappointment which is 1/3 the price. So don't forget to check the price difference. Pros: 1. Small and easy to carry (it's not heavy, my 3 year old could move from one room to another). 2. Great features like videos, game mode and tutorial videos. 3. Great display for watching videos. 4. Shiny and eye-catching globe. I changed the batteries twice. Of course, my kids used a lot. 2. The base of the globe would be much nicer (I like the design :), nothing special)
