I took one apart and tried it. Beautiful bright lights with multiple display options. I like that they are waterproof (IP66). Each time you press the power button, a different lighting mode is selected. Quickly press the power button twice to turn on the dual white LED flashlight. The magnet is a small metal point in the center of the back panel. There is also a foldable plastic hook for hanging. To install the batteries: 1. Using a Phillips screwdriver2, loosen the two screws. Then use a knife or flathead screwdriver to pry up the back cover with the tiny protruding tabs. Be careful when using the knife.3. Insert 3 AAA alkaline batteries with correct polarity4. Slide the cover back into position so that the tabs fit into the slots5. Then reinstall the screws. I have to leave them with the batteries installed as I don't want to do these steps in the dark with a damaged car. Then I would need a computer or a phone to remind me to replace them at least once a year, otherwise the batteries would eventually run out. If I didn't need the flashlights I would easily forget them which is why some kind of reminder is important to not damage them and to keep them useful with fresh batteries.
