Very durable basket, well made. The net is also very stiff and not flexible. I was very surprised by the quality. I got this to replace the aluminum basket in my large PRESTO kettle which also doubles as a slow cooker. Because aluminum can be leached out, especially when heated, I don't want to add it to food because of the potential health risks. This basket works great in the Big Kettle like it was made for him and will last forever. It is large enough to be used as a multi-purpose colander. Some have noticed the appearance of rust over time - this can be counteracted by washing and immediately placing in a heated oven. I do this with all my cast irons to dry them well and then quickly rub them with cooking oil.
