I received these to store our 1U network equipment. The rails in our data center are very thin and warped, and even a medium-sized switch will sag with just a front bracket. So I installed these shelves under each switch/firewall pair. Works perfectly. Installation is fairly simple, you attach 4 corner posts to the rails and then slide the shelf in. There are 2 shorter tours and 2 longer ones. This gives you the option of designing the shelf slightly set back at the front or back. The shelf itself is pretty light but can support a ton of weight. We have two giant derailleurs that weigh about 40 pounds each and can flex rails without back support. With these shelves, it not only helped with sagging, but also made installation a lot easier. No more trying to hold the switch while trying to install the screws with a shaky hand. You simply install a switch on the shelf. Much easier. I will use them with all of our cabinets, even the thicker rails, simply because it makes installation quicker and safer.
