I saw some of these in retail stores and thought "Oh that's cool!" - even though they were about 32 ounces at retail. I wasn't impressed. In fact, I found them "cuter" than anything because they were so small. Then my "spare bottle" that I had previously used broke off part of the neck and was dripping and pouring profusely. Enter this half. Gallon Timestamp Container! I *thrilled* mostly because of the size and the fact that I don't have to refill my "spare water bottle" (I use it to fill my thermos with ice) as often throughout the day. Also, I drink a gallon as is. As a general rule, I need to fill this "well" (like a hole in the ground that gives you access to more than a cup of "well" water) twice a day. I need motivational phrases, I appreciate them and the "kudos" I can see when tracking my own water progress. This bottle is *DURABLE*! I appreciate that very much. I will say that it took me a while to understand the release as I think (in hindsight) what she was doing before holding the lid (to "control" the opening of the water for pouring), which seemed difficult. opened and I kept trying to "pry it open". Then I realized my mistake. 🤦🏽‍♀️I have to admit I didn't use the straw as I don't need it, but I washed/cleaned it like the bottle after it arrived. The bottle itself I've cleaned once or twice but I really don't find it that dirty, especially since I only use water and the water flow is so great - and I don't get any "backwash". Saliva - which actually does not need to be cleaned. I also appreciate that even with the tap water or ice water I use and as much as I took on the trip, the markings - on both sides, the time markers and motivational jokes have not worn off and have not had any signs removed of which they have been erased/ scraped - partially or completely. * ABSOLUTELY * recommend!
