This is a magnetically coupled antenna. There is no need to physically connect an external antenna. Simply hold it close to the radio as you rotate it and use the tuning capacitor to improve reception. Works in conjunction with your radio's internal antenna. Great improvement in AM MW reception. At night it connects to distant stations to sound as good as local stations. So far I have been able to pick up stations over 700 miles away in favorable atmospheric conditions. Highly recommended.
