Having 2 hounds I decided to check this out. It works as advertised. When the mom goes with us we are able to split it at the swivel and one of the lanyards can be latched back to the swivel for a handy handle and leash. The other handle (originally the main leash lanyard) can be conected directly to mom's boy. Occasionally we have only 1 hound to walk. Then you can attach one side of the swivel lanyard to the hound! The other lanyard can be attached at the handle because of a ring installed on the handle for that purpose. Great product for 1 OR 2 HOUNDS.
