Handy little lighter. It is excellent for candles and for "cutting" thread and welding the ends of plastic cords. I haven't tried it for anything else, but I look forward to trying it outdoors when I'm camping or fishing. Two things I really like are that it's windproof and the plasma arc is compact and stable, unlike flames that can sway a bit. This makes it handy for burning cords or cords without worrying about burning anything around them. However, be careful not to take them with you on a flight. Although the description reads "TSA APPROVED" and "airport safe," according to the TSA website, "arc lighters, plasma lighters, electric lighters, electric lighters" are not allowed in carry-on or checked baggage. I thought they were technically "airport safe" but according to the TSA website they are not allowed to exit security. Shame as I bought it with the intention of taking it on a trip as a gift. Apart from the description I am satisfied with the lighters.
