I received my lighters yesterday and it's time to retire my trusty old Zippo. This thing works really well, and besides weighing more than a Zippo, it works better. It was a bit windy when my dog and I went for a walk and out of habit I wrapped my hand around the lighter, realized what I was doing, removed my hand and lit the smoke with no shield and no issues. I really like these lighters - they last a long time without reloading, are very reliable and work exactly as expected. If anything, they seem to light things up FASTER than butane lighters. They are unaffected by the wind and at high altitudes (I regularly sleep in places over 10,000ft) they work well while butane lighters start to struggle. My only complaints are rather minor: 1. Handy little lighter. It is excellent for candles and for "cutting" thread and welding the ends of plastic cords. I haven't tried it for anything else, but I look forward to trying it outdoors when I'm camping or fishing. Two things I really like are that it's windproof and the plasma arc is compact and stable, unlike flames that can sway a bit.
