A handy 5Amp 12V Vehicle Battery Charger from LEICESTERCN

It's always nice to have a vehicle battery charger in the house just in case. I believe we all had experience with trying to start the car in the morning for work and realized that the car battery is empty (usually it happens on older car when we forgot to turn off head light, or when we used AC for too long without engine running, or the charge inside battery just drops too low because we haven't used the car for too long). I used to jump start the car with dead battery from another car but sometimes it's really not easy to do so. My friend told me that I could just use a 12V battery charger to make things easier so I bought this LST 5Amp 12V Vehicle Battery Charger. The package includes one EPA1205 Battery Charger for All 12V Batteries, one DC Output Cable with Clip Connectors, one DC Output Cable with Ring Connectors, and Instruction Manual. It's nice that it comes with 2 different type of connectors so I can also use it on other type of batteries if needed. This battery charger requires an AC outlet to function and it can charge the battery at a rate of 5A. There are indicator lights on the battery charger to show current status and also how much charge is in the target battery.I have tried this charger on my Mazda CX7 and it worked as expected. I connected the power (red) to battery positive terminal and ground (black) to battery negative terminal and that's it. This battery charger displayed the current charge level in the battery and started to charge. The charger automatically switched to float charging mode after the battery was fully charged. It's worth noting that this battery charger is rated IP65, which means it's dust and water splashing resistant. It's nice to know that the device can be used safely outside (although I probably won't use it in the rain as it's only IP65 rated)

Pros
  • This charger did exactly as promised(quickly), was easy to use, and I'm mowing my lawn once again.
Cons
  • The product may not be efficient for charging small batteries
