Slips out best when feeding

I bought this because I forgot one of my flanges in my handy portable pump. However, after flushing and reassembling, I put the flange in and flipped it over and it was gone. That's because it fell right out of the hole. So I think it needs to be a little tighter than the original so it doesn't fall out, luckily I found it, but now I have to be very careful because they are so loose.
