Review on 🌈 Antec Prizm Series RGB Fans, 120mm PC Fans with Addressable RGB, 5V-3PIN Sync with Motherboard, 5-Pack of 120mm Fans with Controller by Chris Morgan

Bought an Anted Prizm 120 ARGB 5 fan assembly with a controller module. This kit is compatible with many manufacturers of LED controller/programming standards. In my case I am using an ASUS mobo which uses the "Aura" environment. Fans/LEDs The fans in my case were easy and straightforward to install. The LED rings are vibrant and the colors match other non-Antec components in my system, from the LED RAM modules to the onboard lighting on the motherboard itself. You'll be happy with how they look. The fans are quiet but pump enough air. I'm also using an all-in-one liquid cooling module and heatsink inside out on this particular build, so it's important that I'm pushing cold air into the system. Not only do these fans conform to the Aura LED programming standard, but the controller module is also capable of receiving RPM programming inputs from the PWM output pin. Basically, your fan speed is dynamically controlled based on your CPU temperature sensors. As your CPU heats up, the fans speed up, and as the core temperature drops, the fans slow down. To be honest, I had to manually crank the fans to full speed to see how loud they were because my CPU never got hot enough to overclock it. However, I could hear the system from across the room, but I have a system in the room with a lot of echo. Linoleum floors, little sound-absorbing furniture. Fan noise doesn't bother me since I'm a systems engineer by trade, so I basically can't hear it even when it's there. However, if you are building an audio or video production system, you need to ensure your system is built appropriately. Large 240mm fans run at low speeds and/or water cooling like mine. However, even with water cooling you still need ambient air in your case and these baddies will certainly do their job and look fantastic doing it. Controller Module The controller module is thin enough to fit in a cable. the control section of your case, but if you can't find a place it's all black and quite small so it won't be a showcase for your build. The instructions were a bit obscure, but once you have a look at the mobo manual and mod instructions, everything should be easy enough to install in the right place. The nice thing is that you don't risk frying anything if you put the connectors in the wrong pins, so don't worry. One thing to note is that due to the way the control module works, you cannot program the fans individually. The same signal and programming applies to all fans connected to the module. If you want to program fan speed or LED effects separately, you need multiple control modules. However, I'm more concerned about the performance of the system under load than the light show in my case. Accessories The kit includes double-sided square foam adhesive for attaching the control module and cables, which are more than long enough for a medium-sized case. You'll need your own zip ties or velcro to tie the wires together, but unless you're doing your first build you'll probably find out by now. Summary Fans move a lot of air, they don't rattle or smash the case when they rev up, and while you can definitely hear them, you're hearing mostly the rushing air, not the fan motors. This noise factor can easily be reduced by purchasing larger fans or adding water cooling. The fan LEDs are well color-matched, nice and bright, and all fans are controlled and synchronized by connecting to the included controller module. The module supports many LED industry standards and is compatible with motherboard PWM headers. Overall I think this is a fantastic product at this price point and I am absolutely happy with it in my build. If you don't have any special requirements, don't flinch when you buy this kit.
