Review on 🐟 Seachem Prime: Powerful Chemical Remover and Detoxifier for Fresh and Saltwater Aquariums by Breanna Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best water conditioner on the market.

SUMMARY: I'm not a professional, I'm an avid amateur. In my experience, Seamchem makes the best chemicals (see also Purigen for pure water, Excel Flourish for plants, Discus buffer and neutral pH and trace element regulators) and Pristine for water quality maintenance/denitrifying bacteria) for ease of use and value. Prime is the best custom product Seachem has to offer, making it simply the best of the best. Seachem Prime 500ml GENERAL: Best tap water conditioner without exception. This was noticed by a guy from LFS (local fish shop) a few years ago. Although this does not eliminate the need for water changes, you can take a break between changes. TYPE OF USE: general water conditioner. For the uninitiated, your tap water most likely contains chlorine, fluoride, etc. These can and are toxic to fish. Also, the goal is to get all the "things" in the water (I won't go into that, but kH, gH, acidity, water additives, nitrates, nitrites, etc.) to mimic the environment in which they are found . of course, even if your fish is bred and raised in an aquarium. The first step in this part is accomplished with Prime. No other water conditioner is as durable as Prime. Of course, you'll need to add a few other things depending on your origin (e.g. mixing rainbows with rams - you can do that, but it's much more difficult to find a middle ground between the South American waters where rams come from and the Indo-Pacific region of most rainbows) , but Prime is ALWAYS step #1. Like a water change? I keep adding more Prime to new water. Additionally, I don't know if too much Prime can be added - I'm not saying pouring 500ml of Prime into a 5 gallon tabletop tank is any good - in fact you get a lot of margin for error with Prime. (at least with fresh water). If the bill gives you 10ml of Prime when you change the water and you add 50ml instead, don't worry. In addition to step 1, it can also be used in emergencies (especially in a newly set up aquarium with no nitrogen installed). cycle). If you have a nitrogen spike, you can use Prime to neutralize it - and in turn, that margin of error means you can use Prime quite a bit with no side effects. So instead of buying an ammo lock or a denitrifier, Prime has those covered. It also doesn't affect the plants or other critters (amano shrimp in my case) in the tank. RECOMMENDED FOR: Everyone (beginners, intermediate, experienced hobbyists, pros) and everything (freshwater, blackwater, brackishwater, saltwater).
