Review on 🚣 Pair of Grey Perception Kayaks Splash Fishing Rod Holders for Kayaks - Enhance Your Kayaking Experience! by Ryan Nguyen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

They're ok, just not great.

I can't say they're terrible, but I can't say they're great either. I think if I had a Perception box I would probably give it a different rating which is why I'm giving them 3 stars. I installed them on a Perception cooler that attaches to the back of the kayak seat (sit on the top seat of the kayak). .The cooler is amazing, I love the cooler. However, these rod holders are ok, not great. They could be, but I think they're better for a drawer than a cooler. First, PVC is not very securely fixed in the sleeve. I didn't think it would be a problem, but throughout the day I noticed that the PVC wanted to come out of the sleeve several times. Second, the PVC needs to be a bit longer, I think that will help especially. with a pole that has a slightly longer handle base. I have found that the weight of my sticks attached to the fridge causes the holder and fridge to tip backwards, creating a situation where the sticks can slide out. I also think that this back tilt caused the PVC problem previously described. The cooler had a hook to attach things to, I put a line on each pole and attached it to the cooler which I was glad I did. The bars weren't that heavy and I didn't have anything attached to them, so there wasn't really a weight issue to cause a "reverse flop". Also, I tend to lock my seat upright, but sometimes it reclines a bit (not much, just a little), this also creates a backwards tilt in the bar, but even when I make sure my seat is upright , the holder fishing rods still leaned back. My rods didn't slip out of their holders but I was more worried about losing my rods than enjoying the day's fishing. Now for the good, they're very well made and very durable, except the PVC isn't fixed in the case. I think if they were attached to the Perception box the PVC coming out wouldn't be a problem at all. A few small modifications - attaching PVC to the canvas cover and slightly lengthening the whole structure will greatly improve them, especially if they are attached to the radiator. Overall I think this would work for a Perception box rather than a cooler. They look great, but they just don't work well with the cooler.
