Review on Sony DualSense Gamepad, Galactic Magenta by Stanislaw Banasiuk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would definitely recommend the purchase, I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

exclusively taking into account the known drawbacks is it worthwhile to purchase, particularly if the controller is intended to be used WITHOUT the PS5 (or not exclusively for the PS5). Even while there are drawbacks, this does not necessarily mean that it does not function or functions poorly with a PC. For instance, in two weeks of use, no disconnections or non-clicks were seen. In addition, even under heavy use, it is significantly quieter. Use controllers with X Input mode (XBox Controller, 8bitdo Pro 2 / SN30 Pro Plus, etc.) and full XBox Controller compatibility support for PC if you don't want to understand or configure anything.

Pros
  • The entire review takes into account the specificity that it was taken for a PC. Works right out of the box with Windows 10, although the degree of native compatibility varies by game — some recognize the controller right away without any settings, while others do not. The easiest approach to link is to choose a controller in Steam; after that, even games that may not directly support the gyroscope will function. Similar to that, layer software like DS4Windows allows you to accomplish it. When it comes to execution, the shape has improved, the texture feels like satin and doesn't collect skin fat, nothing creaks or crunches, the assembly is quite dense, and the weight distribution is comfortable. The buttons also don't rattle. Does not require a special adaptor; uses standard BT 4+. When utilizing these sticks, anti-friction rings near the analog sticks may be felt, and scrolling is significantly smoother when the stick axis rests against the frame.
Cons
  • Since prolonged vibration and adaptive triggers aren't "officially" supported by Sony for platforms other than PS5, they aren't currently functional in virtually any PC game at the time of this recall. The gyroscope and touchpad have very little support as well. Compared to the XBox Controller, the built-in battery has a much lower operational time, therefore you will need to plug the controller into the charger (while it is still in use) for extended gaming sessions lasting longer than 5-7 hours. Considering that this is the controller's initial revision, reports of a broken trigger spring have already surfaced, despite the fact that they are simple to fix at home. The "green" competitor has never experienced these issues.
