That's it. Mini pump to put an end to all mini pumps.

I used to have a C02 pump with me but got stuck over 50 miles from home a few weeks ago when I got two flat tires in a row (never happened before in 15 years of year round cycling), and for some reason my second cartridge camouflaged itself as soon as I screwed it in. I had to do the most embarrassing thing and my wife picked me up in her minivan and I vowed this would never happen again. I bought this at a high price. hopes and they were totally exceeded. Okay, here's what I wanted to know but couldn't figure out from online reviews... same goes for other Lezyne mini pumps. The "screw part" is screwed onto the valve part of the stem. So if you have smooth stems you are fine tuned anyway, it just grabs the end of the stem. I tried really, really hard to get it to unscrew the valve as some reviews say and had no luck. Anyway, I have a valve stem tool on my multi-tool. I guess if I really cared I could fill the air vents there with blue Loctite. 20 seconds of work and I don't mind bike work. Are you still worried about the valve coming off? You can order a Lezyne slide cartridge (black plastic) that fits onto the end of the Schrader valve and easily slides on and off on the Presta valves. I pre-ordered it and it works great. It didn't slip to 90 psi. I've been through this and pumped flat to 90psi 4 times at my shop with this thing. It took me 4 to 5 minutes to pump. It was moderately difficult, but not what I would call difficult. I had better luck aligning the tire to lay down and inflate it at the bottom. The air release valve on the side of the Presta is a great feature so you don't have to struggle with air pressure in the hose when unscrewing it. I work on the road so I don't have bikes with Schrader valves so I can't tell you if this site works well. This fits in my two different saddlebags along with a spare tube, multi-tool, patch kit and some Clif bars. It's really small and I really like it. I tore it up and it's a nice simple design, not much to go wrong. All inner rings can be found almost everywhere. The tube can be purchased separately if you intend to use this item many times and it wears out. I think I will live 15 years and buy something new and shiny. So if you can stand the price, take it. You won't regret it, it's a good solid pump, small and works well.
