then two support brackets broke off, rendering it unusable. Arkon only sells the phone mount.

I bought this to replace a similar model I bought almost four years ago. This has served me well, but as my phones got bigger it started to reach its limits and eventually one and then two of the support clips broke rendering it unusable. Arkon only sells part of the phone mount, but for only a few bucks I bought a brand new one. This model is identical to the old one except for the larger capacity. Whereas with the old one I had to stretch the spring clips to their limit so I could put my phone in. It also made it harder to remove the phone. The large capacity means the phone slides in and out much more easily and with less spring tension, but just enough to hold it securely even when hopping on speed bumps. I also noticed that the four clamps are much beefier than on the older model. That's great because that was probably its weakest point and certainly the reason I had to replace it in the first place. The suction cup is very good and happily supports the phone's weight, but like any other suction cup, it doesn't last forever. I take it off every week, quickly clean the windshield, put a few or three drops of water on the suction cup and reapply. It's really cool when you're driving and everything falls to the ground. Just take the initiative and this Arkon dashboard mount will serve you for years and bring you comfort.
