The optician said that my eyes itch because of the mites removed. I waited for the meeting and read about it and good reviews. I used it for two days and it got worse. I got an emergency appointment with an eye doctor who said don't use tea tree oil on the eyes as it is very irritating. His recipe! Wash your eyelids well with baby shampoo and plain eye oil. I used coconut oil. He also told me to take an antihistamine and gave me hydroxyzine but he said Benadryl was fine as were the others. Questions removed immediately. He said Demodex feeds on dead skin cells and another potential problem is eye makeup irritation, so clean your eyelids well of old makeup every three to six months. Felt magical yet so simple. So be careful with tea tree oil (obviously it's toxic to cats too) and try baby eye and face shampoo and non-irritating oil before you buy!
