Very noisy and not sure a 1 year old would like it. 2 years old This is very cute and works well for repeating what has been said. Even adults like to play with it.

This is the second purchase I have made. I'm sending the first one back because it was broken and didn't work at all. Got my new one today and the battery cover is missing, it definitely speaks but I don't see any ups and downs. actually not a very good toy

I love Maggie! It is also good for therapy. I was feeling stressed and Maggie was turned on, I called once and she repeated me so I did it 3 more times each time and waited for her answer. It was so nice to hear my disappointment in return made me feel better. my evening was good Thanks Magges!

I bought one of these for our daughter's first birthday a while back and she loved it! She plays with him so often. Your big dog will love it too. I bought this last one for her other furry friend. I love this little hamster! This was a HUGE HIT for Easter for my little granddaughter. She laughed so hard as she watched the hamster move and repeat what she said. Then there was this tender moment when she sat at the table and put her nose in the hamster, then took it and hugged him tightly. how wonderful. I bought this in hopes it would help with imitation and language development. The simulation is decent but picks up background noise. My daughter always carried it with her, but she fell several times on the wooden floor and it broke. Turns out the bottom is connected with a zip tie - I'm not sure that's the safest way to attach a kid's toy. I ordered Maggie's original talking hamster and rexie dinosaur night light as a birthday present for my nephew. Both arrived quickly and came in cute boxes.
