I think this is a great value mattress. We had no chemical smells. I had no problem inflating my mattress. So I took it out of the box and spread it out before removing the vacuum seal and went over it until it was smooth and even. I took him downstairs to a guest room where no one would disturb him and removed the vacuum seal. I also removed the waterproof cover and laid it flat. I walked over a little to make sure it was clear and left it on the floor. I flipped it over after a few hours and stepped on it again in the corners etc and I did it a few more times by flipping it. IDK if all this is being honest, but I did and it fluffed fully and evenly onto a regular mattress in less than 24 hours. but i left it longer to be sure. I didn't have any problems with the corners from what I've read elsewhere. The ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE (not that big at all) is that it is NOT 5 inches thick. It's a solid 4.5, but whatever. I just thought I'd mention it. It's clearly as big as it gets, and it's durable and COMFORTABLE! The case is great too. Easy to remove and no cheap feel. DEF TRY THIS! MUCH better than those horrible nightmare mattresses.
