Review on ๐Ÿ’ป Enhanced Performance with Rocketfish USB Laptop Cooling Stand RF-LAPCOL by Daniel Evans

Deal with the heat! Best in Computers & Accessories

It's a well-known fact that heat is the enemy of electronics. I recently bought a used 17 inch widescreen laptop that is notorious for getting very hot. It's also quite noisy with three fans and weighs around 10 pounds. Would a cooling pad help? Rocketfish. It's a lightweight plastic part, but strong and durable. It has a slight tilt to elevate the back of the keyboard and two fold-out legs to further increase the angle. The fan is powered by a USB port and the USB cable fits into a convenient compartment on the stand. Arugula works great. It can easily support the weight of my "barely portable" laptop. Notebook 16 inches wide. No problem. This is a "universal" product, so it doesn't fit all laptops in the same way. With my laptop, I had to be careful to position it so that it didn't block the fans or vents, the back legs are only partially on the stand, but it's still stable. h The fan is very quiet and the noise of the laptop is reduced. I'm not sure if it's because 1) the fans run less, 2) the space under the laptop changes the way fan noise bounces off the desktop, or 3) the space under the fans creates the ones they produce Air turbulence reduced. I think turbulence can be a big problem, but whatever it is, the computer is definitely quieter. I vacuumed the vents on the laptop, placed it on a stand, and plugged the Rocketfish fan into the USB port. The end results showed it ran about 15 degrees cooler. Success! A note on portability. This device is as small as it gets. None of the cooling pads I know of could be more portable. The only thing I think would help if it worked. It would be nice to have the same strong and rigid folding device, but for now the Rocketfish RF-LAPCOL is a good choice.
