Okay, here's the real deal. The universal cartridge SHOULD seal and hold the Presta valve. Anyone who has trouble with this part is simply not pushing the feed far enough. The valve engagement pin is spring loaded and with the Presta valve stem you need to push it down until the engagement pin falls back down. If you do, it will grab and seal. I'll admit the print isn't perfect, but it's "good enough". However, DO NOT BUY THIS FOR PRESTA. The reason is that you cannot remove the cartridge without deflating it. Presta tires work with very high pressure and very low volume. This means that even a small loss of air will result in your tires being 20psi or more lower than you would like. If you're stuck with this because you didn't get it back in time, I recommend using a presta adapter and filling it like a Schrader valve. If you are careful you can unscrew the adapter without losing air and then close the Presta locking bar.
