I started running about three years ago. When I started, I landed badly on my left knee and tore my meniscus. Since then I've been running with Brooks most of the time. I had three signal pairs, a signal2 pair and now trace. Mixed pair of Nike Revolution and Asics. The only time my knee hurt was when I wasn't wearing Brooks. Now I usually run a few miles five days a week, usually on pavement. After five runs and 25.6 miles my pair of Trace is holding up well. The cushion holds but collapses enough to be very comfortable and reduce impact. Outside, the floor does not fold or shrink. I am very happy with them and they are the most comfortable Brooks I have ever had. I've attached a table of the distances I've run in different pairs (since I started using this particular app last year). Obviously, Brooks lasted much longer. The size is about half an inch smaller. I usually have 10.5 but I get 11 in these and other Brooks. If in budget or not, buy them. money well spent.
