This product is not much different from the protective glass screens you would put on your mobile phone, except that it is larger for a larger 8 inch screen. I installed it on my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara screen and not only does it improve the look of the screen, it gives me more confidence that there is another layer of protection for such an expensive device. The Jeep told me it cost $6500 to replace it, so I think this money and time is well spent. Some comments talk about the lag when trying to select different applications. I can say that I have absolutely no lag in selecting an option and executing it. This is truly a wonderful product.
