At first I was skeptical about spending $20 on plastic rings. Then I started disassembling the air conditioning lines on my Wrangler. I don't want to say that you can't switch off without them, but they do a lot better. Two lines came off in 30 seconds, the third took twenty minutes of fumbling and hammering. They don't have instructions, but it's pretty easy. Wrap the ring with the tab for connection around the tubing connector and press inward. Note. If possible, discharge the air conditioning lines first.
