Review on Enhanced Efficiency: IFR Three-Ring Kneeboard for Pilots by Aaron Stewart

Revainrating 4 out of 5

All in all this is a great knee brace. The back wall is made of aluminium.

The only inconvenience of this knee brace is that it doesn't have a zippered pocket for important documents like pilot's license/medical card. I solved this by taking the old lug's plastic insert and putting my driver's license/medical papers inside and then tucking it into the left sleeve insert when it was attached to the ring. All in all this is a great knee brace. The back panel is made of aluminum and is very rigid. Even better, you can easily slot your iPad mini into the center flap in front of the back panel (make sure you turn your iPad upside down so it doesn't overheat and you can charge it!). I was even able to put a sectional fuse behind the aluminum plate and haven't had any problems so far. The iPad also remained touch-sensitive due to the plastic inlay, which is a clear plus. Use a dry erase marker if you want to mark the front or easily erase sheets. I am currently training on the R22 and for the most part this knee pad is not too large to be used in the R22's compact environment. Sometimes the left sleeves can chafe your wrist when you need to raise the team, but that's pretty easy to ignore. If you're looking for a new knee pad for IFR training, this guy wins without a doubt. The leg strap is well thought out and I'm pretty sure it will fit any foot size even if you are riding a chicken! (j/k) Great product, Jeppesen makes quality products and I look forward to purchasing more of their products in the future.
