Review on Bell 22-1-05585-8 Drink Holder for Mounting on Doors by Patrick Johnson

Not exactly what I was looking for

I understand that this drink holder will be useful in some cases and for some people, but it didn't suit me. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: * Nice size - will hold even the largest mug * Looks pretty well made - not very crappy like something from Wally-World * Stays in place once secured to the door * Hanger is versatile - it could be hung on some kind of hook or even on the back of an airplane seat. CONS: *If you have a particularly heavy cup and/or drink, the "hands" will splay and possibly even drop the drink. This is especially true for large/tall cups (think "big sips”) * Conversely, not good for small water bottles - they just slip between the "arms" * The distance from the top of the car door to the cup holder depends on the thickness of the inner ones door panel. If it's quite thick (3-4 inches) then the drink will stand very tall. If it's thin, it hangs pretty low and can get in the way of the doorknob. * The plastic part of the hanging strap cracked and eventually broke. I attribute this to being exposed to the high temperatures of a closed car (120+ degrees) in the summer, but still - it's designed for driving in a car! All in all, I'd say it can be very useful in some situations, but didn't seem worth asking for.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Reliability
