Now I'm pretty well invested in NetDot's "Gen12" magnetic charging system, and I haven't had much regret when I learned to leave it my USB-C charger in place. When first plugged in, they have the same grip as their micro-USB options, but after removing them to use the USB drive on my phone, I only found the cable tending to jam the connector a couple of times to pull out of the device. Replacing with a new tip holds securely at first, but then quickly loses its holding power after a few removals. Micro USB tips don't have this problem and are great for occasional removal and re-insertion at least a hundred times; they still hold the device well enough that the charging cable can't pull it out of the socket
