I bought it because it is waterproof.
I love that this ink is waterproof. Not all calligraphy inks are waterproof. They are ideal for writing calligraphy over watercolor work and prevent accidental ink smearing when touched. They dry quickly and I can paint over the ink with watercolor without smudging! I found this ink to be a bit runny when I first opened it, but I got used to it. Just keeping the lid open for a while helped the consistency of the ink and calligraphy. Because of its water resistance and quick drying ability, the ink on my pen dries quickly and doesn't wash off with just water. I've found that removing the ink from my pen with rubbing alcohol works well.
