Review on Convenient Keyless Entry Remote πŸ”‘ for Ford Expedition/Explorer & Mercury Mountaineer (CWTWB1U322) by Melvin Man

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought in July, no longer works today.

I wrote a very good review because it worked well. However, he died only 6 months after the purchase. I bought a 2006 Explorer that didn't come with remotes. I bought this remote because without the remote the only entry point was the driver's door. There is no key on the passenger side. It was the sheriff's car. Maybe that's why there was only one key on the door. Installation wasn't as easy as the instructions or other people claimed. I inserted the key with the driver's door open, but closed the lock. I switched it from off to electric 8 times in 10 seconds and pressed the unlock button on the remote. Nothing has happened. I was very fast and sure I did it in less than 10 seconds. However, nothing happened. I've tried and tried and failed and failed. Then I turned 8 switches on and off many times later and this happened. Car locks would open and close by themselves, and the remote control has worked ever since. I have no idea what I did wrong and what I ended up doing right. All I know is that after I got it working, it works from my porch to the street. The range is moderate, maybe around 30-40 feet or so.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Somewhat serviceable
