Review on ACDelco 10391700 Original Equipment Intermediate by Jay Maryland

Purchased to replace the parking brake intermediate cable on our 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. When I went to install the cable I understood the problem. The old cable had a threaded adjustment rod at the end. This allows you to loosen the adjuster, install the cable, and re-adjust the tension. The replacement unit did not have a control rod, so you would have to either disconnect the parking brake cables on the rear wheels or on the parking brake assembly in the cab. At this point you can install a new cable and reconnect the disconnected cables. The problem is that now you have no more customization! I ended up buying a replacement from Raybestos that had an adjustment bar and looked just like the original. I tried returning the AC Delco unit to Revain but they wouldn't return it and offered a loan and I didn't even have to send the old unit back. They were great to deal with and they absolutely did the right thing!
