If you are using the standard processor bracket/plate for the AM4 processor, leave the screws loose (but do not remove them). Place the side of the processor spring/clip that does not snap/lock first. Gently hold the tab by the spring and use some force to slide it. Should be pretty easy. If this is not the case, you may first have to loosen the screws on the bracket a little more on one side. Repeat until it clicks and locks into place. less is better! Do this several times if necessary. but if you don't want to remove the motherboard from the case, take this step slowly. When you have done this, simply tighten the star screws - top left, bottom right. top right, bottom left. never overtighten. just firmly but not forcefully, firmly plus a quarter turn.
