I've used the traditional blue tithing cloth with a sponge on the faucet for many years. I noticed that after use the Blues lost their microfibers and the stench grew old. I decided to try them as we need to protect our water from microfibers. They work great, but take a little getting used to. They clean the glass very well and also glide almost well, be careful and watch your grip. I think they clean much better than regular sponges and so far last much longer. I haven't had a smell from them, I just rinse it out when I'm done and let it dry and it's ready to use. Lathers very effectively. After soaking, it easily copes with most cooked dishes. I love how they feel in my hand, they just feel clean and not moldy or who knows what. I would recommend that you do not use them to clean tomato sauce or soup as this will turn your nice clean sponge reddish-orange. When cleaning oily items you may need to rinse the sponge and reapply some soap to help, but I can usually remove the grease after refreshing and rinsing the soap.
