When my mother broke her pelvis, it was very hard and painful for her to get in and out of the car. My cousin, a physical therapist, recommended this sheet to me. I learned how to use it by watching the instruction CD that came with it as well as the video on You/Tube. Added Cane to the car and she was able to get in the car with no problems. God I wish they were like this in the 70's and 80's. At the time I was working as a male nurse and nurse and I sprained my back many, many times while moving patients. If only they were then. What a simple and useful idea. Can't recommend enough. This not only reduces or eliminates pain for the patient (and reduces the risk of injury), but also makes YOU less sore. Just remember to place the *folded* section under the person. The idea is that the sheet slides over the sheet with the person sitting or lying on it. So buy enough to move as much as you need. You can always fold it smaller or just push aside the unwanted part if you don't need that much. If you've ever tried to get someone into bed without it, try this sheet and you'll be amazed at the difference. It's not something you leave to someone else. This is just for the move. They constantly remind you to never leave it unattended on a chair or bed and never put it on the floor. Yes by the way. In case you're wondering, my mom felt like she would slide out of her car seat under the seat belt before we even got there before sunrise. (She wasn't, but she thought so.) I could easily pull him out from under her with both seat belts fastened, in just a few seconds at the first red light. I considered leaving it under a 'serviced' person with a seat belt on but that was too slippery too! May I recommend the "Autostock" I use? Get Handybar from Stander. Very well made and durable.
