Review on Nikon 16mm f/2.8D AF FX Fisheye-NIKKOR Fixed Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Anastazja Bondarenko ᠌

The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

I bought it a month ago, I use it for shooting 3D tours. I have shot over 100 panoramas. It cost 66k, I bought a BU, ideally for 30. Previously filmed on Zenitar for many years. The old lens, unfortunately, Nikon made an 8-15mm zoom to replace it. But to be honest, I don’t understand why pay 105k for the fact that I don’t need half. Its pros: Comparison with Zenithar - Significantly sharper around the edges, and overall sharper - better coverage from the glare of lamps in the room at times (very infuriating that there is almost no coverage in the zenith and glare in the panoramas clog the entire ceiling) - quality, metal, purely visually looks reliable - if we talk about 3D panoramas, they began to assemble better, with a smaller interpixel spread, due to the fact that the clarity of the frame has become higher, it is easier to assemble. - aperture and workers are already 3.5, and even with 2.8 you can Its cons: - Expensive for such an old lens (66k, and even that has already been sold out, you can hardly find more new ones) - The mere fact that it hasn't been ated for a long time - screwdriver - focusing on infinity works differently than on zenith. At the zenith, I set it from a meter and forgot. But here it’s not like that, if you shoot pano in the corridor, then the walls are at a distance of 1 m, and the ceiling with such focus will not be clear. You must always follow. With a zenith, it was not necessary to follow.

Has pros: High resolution, sharpness in the center, no glare and virtually no CA. Cons below: Fairly soapy around the edges.

Ideal for capturing high resolution 3D panoramas.
