It's as bright as light. Lights up my room and saves my eyesight now that I'm working more and more from home. The remote works, but mine is plugged into a smart outlet so I can just yell at Google Home to turn it on and off. The small light and the big light are independent of each other, so you can have a yellow warm light on one and a fluorescent white light on the other. Before purchasing this particular light I read a number of reviews of other similar lights. . The main problem they had was that they randomly turned on by themselves. If I was woken up in the middle of the night by a light accidentally left on, I would TURN OFF and ask questions afterwards, so I made sure this one didn't have any of those reviews. That didn't happen to me.
