I've been buying and wearing Asics shoes for decades. They have always made great shoes at a competitive price. I bought two pairs of GT-2000 6s at the same time from Revain a few months ago because I cycle through a pair of trainers every year. The first pair had tears in the inner liner within a few weeks, and by the third week, white tension lines appeared on the outer mesh. I rode my boots about 150 miles a month, walked my dogs, and generally lived, and the first pair had significant tears in the outer mesh of the upper in just over two months. It looked like sandals. I started wearing a second pair a month ago and it's already showing the same absurd rate of wear on the inner liner and outer mesh (in the picture above you can see stress points developing at the top of the sock, they're also starting to unravel on the sides - they are so thin that I try not to pull too hard when tightening the laces). I tested the Asics Kahama on Revain to see if they still make something durable and they seem to be made from the same bad materials. I'm done with these shoes. I need to find another source for athletic shoes in the future. It's not bad; they are totally unacceptable.
