Review on OP/TECH USA Bino/Cam Harness - Enhanced Webbing for Optimal Comfort and Stability by Tom Goodlow

Ideal as for adults. Change is necessary for children.

Attaching clip loops to binocular loops is very easy and feels secure. When I bought them I was ready to do a little tinkering to make these simple straps work for my 10 and 12 year olds. Having received them I would say they will NOT work properly on a child without a simple touch up. I tried the harness on myself (an average adult female) and it worked great! But when I adjusted the strap for my child's smaller stature, the plastic adjustment pieces prevented the sliding clips from moving freely along the straps as they should when you lift the binoculars, to look through them and the belt connector in the middle. her back rested on her neck. Here's how I modified each wiring harness: I cut one end of the strap off the plastic part of the ESC. Now that the end was free I adjusted the straps to fit the child comfortably. I then trim the excess length from that loose end, leaving an extra inch or so to sew up later. (The cut piece was about 24 inches long, but the length of the cut depends on the size of the child.) And then I zigzag stitch along the raw edge with my sewing machine to keep it from fraying. I then sewed the free end of the strap back onto the plastic adjuster and sewed it up exactly as before. It's an easy change once you have the basic skills and tools.
