I bought these to hang inside our glazed pergola for soft night lighting. Now after a while they look great, we love having a remote control and the ability to dim/brighten the lights. I was a little worried they wouldn't be bright enough, but they are bright enough - we don't even usually set them to max brightness. It's probably useful to have a bulb about every foot, and there are 50 bulbs in total. The company's customer service is great - we had a couple of blown bulbs and they immediately sent replacements for free. Some IMPORTANT installation tips: (1) REMOVE all bulbs before installation and screw them back in after installation. This is because lightbulbs are VERY delicate and will break with even the slightest contact with something like a ladder or the ground. (2) When screwing in lightbulbs, you must screw them all the way in. I thought I had some broken lights until I realized they had to screw them on a bit, after that they worked perfectly.
