can't go too far (just an inch) or my voice won't pick up, increasing the gain picks up tons of background noise. My only real complaint about it is the lack of volume, which makes singing very difficult, but it's fine for normal speech. I stream and people like my new mic quality after switching from a cheap headset and that alone is enough to make me happy with the purchase. I'd say the kit is pretty cheap and reasonable, and I already had a preamp to plug my mic into, so at this point I was destined to try this condenser mic. I can reuse the hardware that came with it, but as soon as it's practical I'll probably upgrade the mic.
