Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

A very practical option given the range, filter threads, weight and stub. Practicality comes at a cost of quality. The lens is not for capturing infinity with all the details across the field, or not for viewing these details at 100%. If the main object is in the center, the picture is great. At dusk, it turns into an analogue of f / 1.4 (and sometimes f / 1.2) in terms of the ability to take light on scenes without movement, but with f / 4 depth of field. Illuminated city streets work well. Suitable for travel. 14-24 is its antipode. For its picture quality and workmanship, it pays with practicality (heavy, does not take filters, a truncated zoom, no stub, the price is almost 2 times). But if you shoot a report or emphasize the central object, you are unlikely to notice the difference. But if you shoot the movement with a lack of light - it will be a bit dark. Here 14-24 has a clear advantage. As for astrophoto.

Pros
  • Center sharpness. Light. Stabilizer. Accepts 77mm filters. The zoom covers almost the entire wide-angle range. Beautiful colors. Nice blur. Not a high price for such a set.
Cons
  • Build quality and body materials. The edges are "blurred", with a sharp center. At 28-35 the situation is worse than at 16-28. Covering the edge hole heals, but just a little bit. The front lens block moves when zooming relative to the body, it can suck dust.
