Review on πŸ“Ή Mio MiVue 733-WIFI: Full HD Dash Camera with GPS & Wireless Connectivity by Travis Flores

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good GPS DVR.

Pros: Very easy to install. Sucker to the camera window on the bracket. The suction cup sticks well to the glass. Doesn't fly away in heat and normal driving. Haven't tested it yet in winter... I'll update my review in a few months.- Comes with a 16GB card and will accept my 64GB card.- Security features are a nice addition for those who need help, but the camera responds very slowly and notifies. - Standard USB power connector for the camera. I like this as it's easier to buy longer/replaceable cables. - Clear and crisp 1080p video. - Good day and night video. I feel comfortable with this camera running all the time. The camera is small and light. The camera will display your speed on the screen. The built in GPS is fantastic. The time and date are set by receiving information from satellites. The time, speed and coordinates are also attached to the video. Excellent information in the event of a dispute. Cons: - Safety features (changing lanes, being too close to another car, etc.) are good ideas, but they take about 3 seconds to process before an alert is issued. It's too slow. Other cars passing or turning off the ramp also seem to confuse the camera and warn that another car is too close. I disabled all security features because they don't work well. Voice alert volume is too low (even at full volume) and only audible in a quiet car. Therefore, the camera is not audible when I'm playing music or the windows are closed. The voice alerts don't change and are too long. Once the trouble is over, they're too easy to ignore. It would be better if there were a few lane change warnings, a few more speed alerts, etc. - A normal lane change on a highway triggers a lane change warning and renders it useless. various security features and options available in the menu system. The menus are operated using the 4 side buttons, but the process was cumbersome. I caught myself pressing the wrong button multiple times. That's probably because I wanted it to have a touchscreen. The power/recording LED is too bright and cannot be turned off. I don't like touting to people in the parking lot that I have a DVR. I put a small electric faucet on top to block the light. I think this is a very good dashcam with clean and clear video. I think the slow warning response and security features aren't worth the extra cost.

Pros
  • Priority security features. Using standard fixed and dynamic distance reminder technology, Smart Alert alerts drivers based on speed and distance they are from the camera. The device's advanced driver assistance system provides lane departure and collision warnings, as well as a drowsiness warning.
Cons
  • Some errors
